Nicky van Ravenswaay
About:
Nicky van Ravenswaay is a pediatric occupational therapist with over 9 years of experience. She completed her bachelors of occupational therapy at the University of the Free State and since completed her Masters at the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal.
She has worked in both an out-patient pediatric clinic and school-based. She has a particular interest in sensory integration and understanding how underlying sensory and motor difficulties can influence a child’s participation in everyday activities and learning.
Through her work in a remedial school setting, Nicky has developed an appreciation for the individual needs of each child and the importance of identifying the factors that may be affecting their development, confidence and ability to learn. She takes a child-centred approach, aiming to understand each child’s unique strengths and challenges while supporting their development and independence.
Nicky is passionate about helping children reach their potential by developing the foundational skills they need to participate more confidently and successfully at home, at school and in their everyday lives.
