Elmarie Joubert
About:
I’m Elmarie, a children’s play therapist with a unique interdisciplinary background in genetics, psychology, Montessori education, and therapeutic play. This combination allows me to see each child through multiple lenses: their biology, their emotional world, their developmental stage, and the symbolic language of play.
My story: I have lived around the world and homeschooled my daughters for 13 years. I have worked in a lab, had my own Montessori pre-school, worked in a French Montessori school, have my own Play therapy practice. My passion is working with children. I love learning more every year, so still doing courses after 11 years of formal studies. I love the beach; it's my happy place. Love reading, love coffee, love people.
Through play therapy, children can safely explore difficult emotions, build confidence, develop coping skills, improve communication, and work through trauma or life changes—often more effectively than traditional talk therapy.
