Pelvic Floor with Jemma-Rae McMillian (Physiotherapist)
In this episode, I’m joined by Jemma-Rae McMillian, a physiotherapist with over 15 years of experience in the physio and sports industry.
Jemma has worked across South Africa, the UK, New Zealand and Australia in a variety of settings, including with professional sports teams and alongside leading specialists in Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine. She has completed postgraduate training in Sports, Orthopaedics, Women’s Health, Pilates and Peri-partum Pilates.
Together, we unpack the basics of the pelvic floor and why understanding it is so important for us as moms. We explore some of the common myths and misconceptions around pelvic floor health, as well as signs and symptoms that may indicate it’s time to seek support.
Jemma shares practical insights, advice and, importantly, compassion for moms navigating the many physical changes that come with pregnancy, birth and postpartum.
A conversation to help you better understand your body, know what is normal (and what isn’t), and feel empowered to ask for the support you deserve.
